This weekend we where playing a home game and player one bet 1000. Player 2 calls the 1000 and reraises it 2000. If player 1 wants to reraise that would the minimum number of chips he would have to put in 4000 or 6000?

1)Putting your opponent on a hand requires thinking about…
Position, Player type, What you’re representing, Stack sizes, Image at the table, Betting pattern, Tells, pot odds.
2) At the same time its important to realize what Im representing by betting, checking, raising, folding.
3) Why I Bet-
For value, To induce a raise with a premium hand (betting small), Defensive (betting so your opponent just calls your bet; if you check he might bet more.), to make your opponent fold (bluff)
4) Why I check-
So I don’t put too much money in on a draw and get reraised, because Im not good, To trap.
5) Why I raise- To protect my hand, because I think I’m good, I think by opponent is bluffing and I can get him off his hand
6) Why I fold- I don’t think I’m good
Things I don’t do
Chase straight draws when theres a flush draw out there..If I hit but its the wrong suit I can’t really continue
Big bet bluff
Call with marginal hands such as kj after a raise and reraise
Important things to do
mix up your play once in a while so you don’t become predictable in late position
Special moves
Squeeze playing
Floating to steal the turn
limping with aces in first position knowing your getting raised later
What to bring
Sunglasses, coffee, notepad, money, discipline.
